Fact Sheet: Mental Health and Care in the Context of HIV

Estimates suggest that there are over 200,000 men who have sex with men (MSM) in Vietnam, and this group is at high risk for HIV (PEPFAR, 2019; VAAC 2017). However, stigma and discrimination continue to be a major barrier that this group faces, and this contributes to an increased risk for mental health disorders (Philbin et al., 2018).
