[RECAP] TRAINING ON COORDINATORS OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH/SEXUAL HEALTH FOR LGBTI+ YOUTH LEADERS IN ĐÀ NẴNG.
On August 6th, Lighthouse and Planned Parenthood successfully organized a special training program on sexual health and reproductive health (SHRH) for 10 youth leaders from the LGBTI+ community in Đà Nẵng. The program aimed to provide knowledge and raise awareness about sexual health and safe sex practices for the LGBTI+ youth community, while equipping the youth leaders with the skills to conduct similar trainings for the community in Đà Nẵng.
The training session focused on teaching important aspects of sexual health, such as self-protection, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, and the skills to conduct and coordinate SHRH trainings for LGBTI+ youth and healthcare professionals. During the session, leading experts from Planned Parenthood shared their professional knowledge with the LGBTI+ youth, helping them gain a better understanding of issues related to sexual health and providing necessary information for implementing the trainings.
The training program also provided opportunities for sharing and discussion among members of the LGBTI+ community in Đà Nẵng. This helped create a safe and supportive space where youth could comfortably discuss personal issues and learn about their rights in managing sexual health.
By creating a positive learning environment, the training equipped LGBTI+ youth with the skills and tools necessary to address challenges related to sexual health and build healthier lives. The program also provided reference materials and information about available support services within the community, enabling youth to access and effectively utilize these resources.
The collaboration between Lighthouse and Planned Parenthood has created a beneficial training program that brings significant benefits to LGBTI+ youth leaders in Đà Nẵng. It is hoped that this program will continue to create opportunities for raising awareness and establishing a supportive environment for the LGBTI+ community in managing sexual health and building healthy lives.
