REPRESENTATIVE OF HAI DANG PARTICIPATES IN THE WORKSHOP “HARM REDUCTION INTERVENTION FOR MEN WITH CHEMSEX

Recently, the representative of The Lighthouse Social Enterprise had the opportunity to participate in the workshop “Harm reduction interventions for men who have sex with men who participate in chemsex” held on October 12 in Ho Chi Minh City under the chairmanship of the Department of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control (#VAAC) with support from #UNODC and #UNAIDS.

The program also had the participation of representatives from the Southern Center of Addiction Technology Transfer – University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, health service providers for the community and community support organizations.

In the event, The Lighthouse Social Enterprise had the opportunity to share experiences in providing harm reduction services to groups of men who have sex with men participating in chemsex as well as difficulties and challenges in the process of implementing harm interventions. Through the workshop, The Lighthouse also had the opportunity to contribute ideas to develop the training document “HIV infection prevention interventions for MSM groups practicing chemsex” drafted by the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control (#VAAC).

Through this, the management units as well as service providers also want to bring the best, friendly and comprehensive support services to the MSM community practicing chemsex in the near future.

With its mission, The Lighthouse will always accompany and support programs to promote the sustainable development of disadvantaged communities in general and the chemsex community in Vietnam in particular.
