Photovoice “Family is the fulcrum”

“Family is the fulcrum” is a photovoice project made to convey real stories from parents and young Vietnamese LGBTI+ friends. The contest is within the framework of Hai Dang’s activities in response to Hanoi Pride 2022. The photovoice series aims to convey emotional true stories about the perspectives of both sides: LGBTI+ youth and women. Parents with children belonging to the LGBTI+ community with the aim of helping LGBTI+ parents and children understand, sympathize, and accept and love each other more.

“Family is the Fulcrum” has recorded hundreds of stories sent back and selected 17 most typical stories to make an exhibition, the exhibition also recorded nearly 2,000 visitors and became an inspiration for many artists. LGBTI+ friends in the process of becoming themselves, as well as LGBTI+ parents in accepting their children and being supportive of their children, together promoting a more open view of society towards the LGBTI+ community.
